The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager role is an exciting opportunity to work on a team that is knocking down regulatory barriers to clean energy!


The Senior Manager for Enel North America’s Regulatory Affairs team will support all Enel North America business and product lines to protect, optimize and advance the company’s commercial and sustainability goals. The role will focus primarily on the New England and New York regions, with the opportunity to expand or change geographic coverage as business needs, or professional development opportunities, arise.


The Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs will report to the Head of Regulatory Affairs for Northeast, Midwest, and Canada and will represent the interests of all North America business lines- Enel X, Enel Energy Commodities and Management, Enel Green Power North America.



What You'll Do at Enel:

Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring, participating in, and influencing high priority stakeholder processes and proceedings, including but not limited to those:
    • At ISO-NE and NYISO
    • At Public Utility Commissions and state energy offices in the New England and New York region
  • Cultivating relationships with key decision makers, ISO executives and staff, PUC Commissioners and staff, and other influential stakeholders including but not limited to utilities, consumer advocates, environmental groups, trade associations, and staff of other clean energy companies
  • Maintaining regular two-way communications with internal customers, communicating key market trends and providing insightful and timely research to relevant business lines to inform commercial strategy, and soliciting frequent updates from business lines on their commercial priorities
  • Facilitating relationship building between Enel senior executives and key stakeholders at ISOs, PUCs, and utilities
  • Collaborating with and supporting Regulatory Affairs leadership in developing Enel internal position development across business lines and markets
  • Spearheading coalition building with external allies to advance Enel’s priorities. Participate routinely in relevant trade association discussions
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for regulatory reforms that create new revenue or market opportunities for new assets/investments
  • Coordinating with the Institutional Affairs department to leverage institutional relationships to increase energy market opportunities that will enhance or grow Enel’s businesses
  • Representing Enel and its interests before a broad range of markets, market participants, stakeholders, and policymakers in a professional and ethical manner
  • Helping build Enel’s presence and reputation as a sophisticated and trustworthy participant in the regulatory arena

Who You Are:

  • Ability to prioritize and strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills

What You've Accomplished:

  • 5-7+ years of energy industry experience
  • Previously demonstrated ability to take initiative and influence regulatory processes and/or other stakeholder processes to achieve organizational objectives
  • Track record of collaboration and/or demonstrated ability to connect energy policy positions to commercial opportunities
  • Ability to travel within the New England and New York regions on a limited basis
